  • This Schwinn Approved Mayweg aluminum alloy front rack from a 1956 Schwinn Corvette.
  • Made in Germany.
  • Notice the legs and frame are round.
  • This style. rack was used in 1955, 1956, and 1957 mainly on the Corvette and Jaguar. However, the 1955 rack was slightly shorter if you want to get technical. In 1958 the Schwinn alloy front racks changed to the hinged type with flat legs.
  • It will fit any 26" Schwinn middleweight. 
  • It still has the original blue Mayweg tag. These tags are usually missing.
  •  
  • Comes with the original Schwinn stamped mount, bolt and triangular nut.
  • It is spring loaded and is often called a rat trap rack
