1960s SCHWINN STINGRAY 20 BIKE SPEEDOMETER 5-SPEED ORANGE KRATE SUPER DELUXE S2 Click Photos to Enlarge   Description Here is a complete original SCHWINN STINGRAY bicycle Speedometer assembly which was removed from a 1960s Schwinn Stingray muscle bike with 20" wheels. This fits most any vintage Schwinn bike including Schwinn Stingray, Deluxe Super Deluxe Stingray, 20" Typhoon, Fair Lady, Fastback, Manta Ray, Mini Twinn, Runabout, Krate Series, (Apple, Orange, Lemon Peeler, Pea Picker, Cotton Picker, Grey Ghost etc.) etc.  (If you have a bike with a 16" 24" or 26" front wheel, you would have to change the drive for it to be accurate if you are using this to gauge speed and miles. Its fine like it is for display) This includes the super cool Schwinn STINGRAY Speedometer head, speedo head mount, speedo cable, 20" krate drive, and everything you see! If you have a different size wheel than a 20", simply change the drive if you would like it to be accurate. The cable itself is approx 21 1/2" long which is the CORRECT size for a Stingray but probably a little short for a Krate! (has some tape on the end of the cable put there long ago) It goes up to 40 mph and has 649 miles on the odometer. "Period Correct" items are always best on a vintage bike. A new item on a vintage bike looks out of place. Please keep in mind this one is 45+ years old. It comes exactly as shown. It shows age, chrome is shiney but is not perfect or flawless. (has survived well for its age) Overall a cool item with the right patina!. It is not new or perfect show quality but is not bad considering its age. (see pics)
PLEASE NOTE! The drive works, the inner and outer cables are intact. When you turn the drive it turns the cable internally and turns the needle on the speedometer! (AKA tested and WORKS!) Note the small plastic end on the upper cable was separated. I super glued it in place. Its holding no problem but I like to be honest. This will not effect performance once installed.
