City of San Diego Bike Helmet Safety Poster; Insurance Corp. of British

City of San Diego bike helmet safety poster, cosponsored by the San Diego Association of Governments and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia; poster has evocative art of a bicyclist flying through the air towards the ground; the text reads “At this point, bike helmets are looking pretty good.”  Size 16 3/4” x 21 ¾” overall, but it has been folded twice down to the size of 8 ½” x 11”; good condition with minor wear. This comes from my personal Museum of Ridesharing, which I accumulated in the late 1980s and early 1990s.  Back then, I worked for various government agencies to promote transportation alternatives like carpools, transit / buses, vanpools, bicycling, and telecommuting.  The goal was to reduce air pollution.  From 1984 - 1992, I was an Account Executive for Commuter Computer San Diego, a Ridesharing Coordinator for the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, and the Public Information Specialist--Transportation for the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District.  In those days, posters like this were distributed to companies for their bulletin boards; this specimen was never posted, but instead it was stored away from light.  I think this poster is rather unique; I don't think very many examples still exist.
