Whether you’re just trying out cyclocross for the first time, or a seasoned racer, there’s one tried and true secret weapon that will make you a better racer: tubular wheels. Nope, I am not joking in the least. What experienced cross racers know is that tubulars offer better grip and control than anything else, which means being able to lean your bike just a tiny bit further in the corners without wiping out — over the course of a race, this can really add up.
I have a great set of tubular race wheels for sale,
The Hed Ardennes. 700c, rim brake, very light, wide, and sturdy rims, laced 18/24 to Hed hubs. A classic for a reason. A set of the excellent Clement MXP/PDX tubular tires included, they will need to be reglued. Shimano/SRAM freehub, will accept 11-speed cassette. The wheels have been raced (and have even won a few races!), and show the signs of use you should expect, but function well and have lots of life left in them. Please check the pictures for condition and ask any questions you may have, there are no returns.
