Lightly used Motobecane Fantom Uno titanium frame 29” mountain bike, complete. Motobecane was a French mass producer of bikes back in the 1970s &1980s, but the name is now owned by Bikes Direct. The high end frames are made in Taiwan by some amazing Ti welders, and this bike’s frame shows the fine welds typical of the model. The bottom bracket stamp indicates this frame is a 2007 model.
I am posting this bike for my son. Since I got it for him, he is using this bike solely for pulling my daughter in a trailer, so not riding on rugged trails, for sure. He has decided the mountain bike position is not for him. This bike is a pro-level mountain bike, but with the Sawtooth tires it is ready for the current rage in gravel riding.
This bike has a “XL” frame, measuring 54cm, center-to-top, with a 64cm virtual top tube. Standover height is 84cm. It
has long travel RockShox Recon suspension fork with lock-out, and clearance for 29” X 2.0” tires, as shown.
The set-up is a follows:
Headset is FSA threadless integrated cartridge bearing.
Fork is Rockshox Recon
The wheels have Gravity loose bearing disc hubs, through axle front and quick release rear, WTB ST-125 double wall alloy tubeless compatible rims, and 32 DT stainless spokes each.
Tires are both Specialized Sawtooth folding tubeless compatible 622 X 42 lmm.
Handlebar is 73cm wide Ritchey with 31.8mm clamp and 135mm Ritchey threadless stem. Ritchey seatpost and saddle.
Crankset is a new Shimano Deore 175mm arms with 36 & 22 tooth chainrings. Bottom bracket is new Shimano outboard cartridge bearing.
Derailleurs are SRAM X5, 2x10; shifters are SRAM XO right and friction thumb shifter left (absolutely nothing works better for a double front derailleur).
Brakes are Shimano Hydraulic disc.
Pedals are not included, as pedal choice is highly subjective and variable, so is left up to the buyer.
Local pickup in the Bronx, New York is greatly preferred. My son will deliver it to a local bike shop for boxing, which should cost >$50, thus the handling fee added to the estimated shipping. If the boxing fee is less, I will refund any overpayment to the buyer.
