This was Pegoretti built when Dario was alive, 2017 according to information on chainstay (all Pegoretti bikes have am inscription on the chainstay). It is NOT the current Duende, which is a BIG difference. This frame is made from CUSTOM Columbus Spirit tube set made exclusively for Dario Pegoretti. Spirit is lighter and will ride better, the current Duende is made from Zona which is not nearly as nice as Spirit and this was a CUSTOM Spirit tubing made only for Dario. It interesting that the Duende was the only model to change tubing after Dario passed, making this a bike you can no longer get and specific to Dario.
For a rider or for a collector this is a great bike. I really like the bike but simply have too many bikes for a non-collector.
When I met Dario at the NAHMBS (Richmond) after taking about BBQ for 10 minutes, I asked Dario which model I should I buy... His response was "the Duende is the bike I would equip a pro team with" which seemed an odd response until I reflected on it... the Duende as he made it, was the best bike Dario made... it was not the most expensive but it was the bike that anyone that did not need a bike better than a pro should ride... and who needs a bike better than a pro would need?
The reason I am selling is that I simply own too many great bikes and something does not get ridden much (I am not a collector), If you have ?? or want to talk bikes call Bryin at 301.991.6419. I will charge ACTUAL shipping via bike flights. I prefer local pickup.
