Suntour (Maeda) 'Luxury' Vintage Very Rare 2-Speed Hi-Lo Shifter - New

A New Old Stock Vintage SunTour of Japan (Maeda Iron Works, way before Maeda Industries) Very Old Original Mighty Shifter 'Luxury' 2-Speed Top Bar shifter for SunTour internal rear hub 2-Speed Hi-Lo Gears. Not many of these around and they were not imported in many quantities to the U.S. This is a new survivor of the bike industry from the '50's. This shifter and 2-Speed Hi-Lo hubs were on many Japan built marques with Lo for riding around cities and then going to Hi for moving between Prefectures. Bicycles from National (Panasonic), Kabuki Itoh, Maruishi, Kuwahara, Miyata & Nagasawa did use this system early on. This really is a museum piece.
