Vintage Tiny 1970s 49cm Ron Cooper Custom Hand Built Reynolds 531 Steel Road Bike Frame & Fork Vintage Tiny Ron Cooper Racing Road Bike Frame & Fork. Ron Cooper from London UK is known for making High Quality Bespoke Steel Frames. Cooper did not like use Jigs in his frame building, as he felt jigs built in stress. Reviews claimed frame builds provide more stability, neutrality of handling, and responsiveness. Nice Frame Set, unfortunately Ron Cooper is no longer with us but this is a chance to own a piece of his work. The Quality is in the hand built Frame and this is the Second Ron Copper I have had and Neither one had a very fancy paint Job so I believe this is original paint. Size: Seat tube 47.5cm Center to Center or 49cm Center to Top with a 53 center to center top tube. The Head tube is 80mm tall. I Suspect the Frame and Fork are Hand Crafted with Reynolds 531 Steel Tubes although it is not marked. Bottom bracket is approximately 67mm wide and seat tube looks to take a 28.6mm front Derailleur and a 27.2 seatpost. Frame set has Campagnolo Cable Guides and Gipiemme Dropouts. The Serial number is 11X and is on the front of the bottom lug. The 1" Threaded Fork has 100mm Spacing and the Frame has 120mm Rear Spacing for 5 speed freewheel wheels. Frame set is Used, it has scratches and nicks and some decal loss. Plenty of Pictures to mull over. Given the spacing and serial # I believe the frame set is from the 1970s, it appears to have close tolerance spacing for 27" x 1 1/4" wheels but being so close I would suspect 700c would work as well.
