Vintage Bickerton Portable Folding Bicycle

1970's Vintage Bickerton Portable Folding Bicycle.  Made in the United Kingdom.  The frame is made of aluminum.  Equipped with a 16" rear wheel and a 14" front wheel, a Sturmey Archer 3 Speed rear hub, Weinmann caliper brakes, and fenders.    The bike has not been ridden in over 30 years.  It needs new tires and tubes as well as adjustments and lubrication everywhere.  The parts that are steel do have rust.  I cleaned up the upper handlebar clamps in about 10 minutes.   I used a soft brass brush and Simichrome Polish and got some very good results.  If you look at the last 4 photos, you can see the before and after results of the upper handlebar clamps.  I'm not saying that everything will clean up this well but there can be a considerable improvement in appearance with some polish and elbow grease.  The bike needs some TLC.   This is one of several folding bikes I purchased years ago.  I was fascinated by the engineering that went into them.  I had planned on restoring them but I am retired now and downsizing so most of my bikes must go.
